Voting is compulsoryEl voto es obligatorio

Voting is compulsory for citizens aged 18 to 70. It is optional for those aged 16–17 and over 70. Voters who do not vote without a valid reason may be fined and can justify their absence through the CNE.El voto es obligatorio de 18 a 70 años, y optativo para quienes tienen 16 o 17 años y para mayores de 70.
