On election day投票日

Polling stations are usually open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Take the voting notice (入場券) your municipality mails you; you can still vote without it if you are on the register.

If you expect to be busy on election day (work, travel, family events and similar reasons), you can vote early in person at an early-voting station in your municipality, from the day after the election is announced until the day before voting day, usually 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. You sign a short declaration of the reason. Hours and places can differ by station.

If you are staying in another municipality, you can vote at that municipality’s election office. People in designated hospitals or care homes can vote there.
