“Alaskans pay more for healthcare than anyone else, and the quality of care should reflect that fact, but it doesn't. Overall health outcomes are worse in Alaska than those in the lower 48. To fix this problem the first issue I would address is chronic staffing shortages. When CNAs and Nurses continuously work with a patient load that's not safe it can and does lead to medical errors.” (Alaska Division of Elections Official Election Pamphlet)
“I will work with others to pass mandatory, legally binding safe hospital staffing requirements because CNAs and Nurses aren't leaving the profession because of a lack of passion, they're leaving because of severe burnout. The second issue I would address is the cost of essential utilities.” (Alaska Division of Elections Official Election Pamphlet)
“Lowering the cost of utilities provides Alaskans with more disposable income to allocate to insurance premiums and out-of-pocket medical costs so they can access preventative care instead of "sick" care. To lower utility bills I would work with others in the Legislature to assess a carbon fee per barrel of oil and then create a carbon infrastructure development fund to upgrade the electric grid and develop Alaska's renewable energy.” (Alaska Division of Elections Official Election Pamphlet)

“I've been a cattle rancher, pipe welder, equipment and software salesman, and through all that been a husband and father of 9. My priorities as a man and representative are to increase opportunities and remove roadblocks for future generations to build strong families, safe communities, and real wealth. At the state level we can do that through encouraging private business, natural resource development, and individual liberty.” (Ballotpedia Candidate Connection Survey)
“Natural resources are the fuel that builds industry, and industry builds wealth for families and nations. Developing natural resources built us into the wealthiest, strongest nation in the world filled with the hardest working, most productive people ever. As individuals and government we need to promote those ideals that made us successful and oppose those that want to tear down our powerful heritage.” (Ballotpedia Candidate Connection Survey)
“Individual freedom free from government constraints, natural resource development, and preserving our unique American history and heritage.” (Ballotpedia Candidate Connection Survey)

“In Juneau, Steve will be a strong conservative Pro-Life, Pro2nd Amendment voice. Steve's core belief is Life, Liberty, and Property. Steve's conservative approach to State spending is sorely needed in Juneau so we can restore & protect a FULL PFD. We must cut programs and taxes, especially PROPERTY TAX! Steve's first proposed legislation will be TERM LIMITS! The Founders never intended for career politicians. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts, absolutely.” (Alaska Division of Elections Official Election Pamphlet)
“Hence, a representative should be just that, a representative FOR THE PEOPLE of his district. Furthermore, there is no reason why we can't have the Legislative Session in Anchorage, the Valley, and Fairbanks; on the road system so we can maximize participation. Keep the "Capital" in Juneau but have the Legislative Sessions routed throughout the Peninsula and Interior. This would create transparency and accountability that is desperately needed in our elected officials.” (Alaska Division of Elections Official Election Pamphlet)

“Like many of you, I am frustrated with how our state government is currently operating. I feel a strong calling to step up and enact real change. I am running to provide the hardworking residents of District 29 with better leadership and a clear alternative at the ballot box. I support: Rural Infrastructure By supporting dependable roads, utilities, and community investments that help rural Alaskans stay connected and thrive.” (Alaska Division of Elections Official Election Pamphlet)
“Resource Revenue Champion responsible resource revenue that strengthens Alaska's future while respecting communities and stewardship. Education By Balancing stable public school funding with fiscal accountability, while cautiously supporting parental options without dismantling the public system What has become clear is that candidate qualifications has ceased to be about working to serve the interests of your constituency, instead serving the interests of a party. I will always choose my district over any party, which is why I am non-partisan.” (Alaska Division of Elections Official Election Pamphlet)
“Rural Healthcare Access Expand access to care and protect women's health so families across District 29 can get the support they need. Emphasis must be made in our rural communities to address the lack of resources when it comes to missing and murdered indigenous and native women in Alaska. I intend to make this a priority.” (Ballotpedia Candidate Connection Survey)
