Immigration & border
America has a long, proud tradition as a nation of immigrants. As the son of immigrants and a first-generation American, I know that immigrants strengthen our communities and our economies. They deserve their chance at achieving the American Dream.
Immigration & border
Trump’s ICE agents have terrorized our communities. They have beaten, brutalized, and even murdered innocent people. Instead of demanding accountability, Republicans just voted to send another $70 billion to ICE and Trump’s mass deportation agenda. That’s on top of the $170 billion they sent ICE in their Big Ugly Bill last summer.
Immigration & border
Cross-border pollution has harmed the health of our communities, our local businesses, and our environment. While we’ve been able to bring home over half a billion dollars in federal funding to help combat it, there’s more work to do.
Housing
One of my main priorities is helping to make housing more affordable for the people of south San Diego County. I have long supported the Low Income Housing Tax Credits and championed tax credits for first-time homebuyers. It’s also why I have championed efforts to support community development, affordable housing, and first-generation homebuyers.
Housing
Today, we took a major step forward in tackling our nation’s housing crisis. This legislation will help us boost our housing supply, expand homeownership opportunities, and lower costs.
Elections, ethics & government
Since taking office, Trump has targeted the diversity that helps make our country strong, and Minority Serving Institutions, including Hispanic Serving Institutions, are paying the price. Trump’s plan to end decades of federal support for these programs is an attack on our students, colleges, and universities.
The same votes are shown for every member of Congress on the ballot, so records can be compared across states.
