Also on every Rice County ballot: U.S. Senate, Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, State Treasurer, Insurance Commissioner, your U.S. House and Kansas House districts, the State Board of Education (odd-numbered districts), the Kansas Supreme Court and Court of Appeals retention questions and the statewide constitutional amendment.
The newspaper copy of the notice cuts off the commission district number. County Clerk and County Treasurer appear on Rice County's 2026 notice (normally elected in presidential years); they are shown as printed. Lyons Ward 2 lists two candidates under separate headings, which may be two seats.
Party labels are as printed in the county's official notice (R = Republican, D = Democrat, L = Libertarian, I = independent). Kansas county commission seats are partisan except in Johnson County, where they are nonpartisan. In some judicial districts (such as the 13th, 18th and 19th) district judges are elected on party ballots; in others (such as the 3rd and 10th) voters decide whether to retain them.
Township clerks listed with no candidate can be filled by write-in votes. Kansas House races depend on your address; all 125 seats are on the Secretary of State candidate list. Check your ballot at Kansas VoterView (Secretary of State).
One candidate per seat on the list (write-ins may still be possible).
