What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Regulating AI: Every person deserves ownership of their body, likeness, and voice—the most personal forms of identity and expression. Protecting these rights means no one can profit from, manipulate, or make decisions about another’s body or image without consent. It safeguards personal autonomy, prevents exploitation in media and technology, and reinforces the principle that freedom starts with self-governance. Disaster Management: A national insurance plan and streamlined disaster response are essential to protect families from financial ruin after storms, fires, or floods. No American should lose their home or livelihood because help came too late or coverage was out of reach. Security must be a shared national promise.

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I was a single mother who worked as a waitress to put myself through college. A teacher's salary was not enough to pay the bills; so, I always worked a second job while teaching. I am a mother in a beautiful, blended family that includes 6 children and 4 grandchildren. As a Houma Tribe member, I grew up in a large diverse family that stands on love and faith every day.
