Taxes, budget & cost of living: “I want a North Carolina that takes care of the children that will be our future leaders. I’m not far removed from my time as a public school student and it always upset me to see my teachers explain that the school lacked the resources to properly support our classrooms. Too many children in our state aren’t receiving the education they deserve because Raleigh is either cutting the budget or sending the money to private schools. We deserve better than that and so do the millions of children that call this state home.” (Ballotpedia Candidate Connection survey (2026))
Public education & schools: “I have a deep passion for worker’s rights. We should be doing more to insure that the wealth of this nation is claimed by and used to enrich the lives of the people who do the work to generate it. Raising the minimum wage, empowering unions, support state funded education drives to reconnect our citizens to what unions they already have available, and increase the punishments for corporate misdeeds. If the fine for dumping chemicals in underserved neighborhoods or illegally busting unionization efforts aren’t so high to disuade corporations then we have to fix that.” (Ballotpedia Candidate Connection survey (2026))
