Where Shinkle stands

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

To represent the people of the district, deliver positive legislation for the good of the district, offer out-of-the-box thinking to develop legislation grounded in economic principles and the law. To be a citizen-legislator, go to Washington, address the problems, and return to the private sector. Career politicians should be immediately disqualified from office–-they are the problem. No more apparatchiks!

What is something that has been a struggle in your life?

Being a pragmatic Republican problem-solver while living in deep blue districts--from Detroit to Washington, D.C., to Cambridge, MA, to NYC without any representation that was qualified to fix the quality of life challenges.
