New York State Senate District 13

Current seat holder: Jessica Ramos.

Jessica González-Rojas

It is a great honor to serve as the Assembly Member for District 34, which encompasses the neighborhoods of Astoria, Corona, East Elmhurst, Jackson Heights, and Woodside in Queens. I am proud to be the first person of color, woman of color, and Latina to represent my district, which is one of the most diverse in the world. As a long-time community activist, I fight for social justice reforms for all New Yorkers.

“I am a community organizer and a fierce advocate for racial, immigrant and gender justice. I am an activist with a proven track record of standing up and speaking out against injustices.” (Ballotpedia Candidate Connection (2020))
“I am running to make the New York Health Act (a state version of Medicare for All) a reality, to ensure everyone has access to healthcare, regardless of income, employment, or immigration status. The outbreak of the Coronavirus has tragically exposed how vulnerable New Yorkers are because we lack universal, high quality healthcare for everyone.” (Ballotpedia Candidate Connection (2020))
“I am running to protect our immigrant communities. I will fight for relief for immigrants excluded from federal aid, and to make New York a true sanctuary state.” (Ballotpedia Candidate Connection (2020))
