Maternal Health & Doula Care: “For years, research has shown us that doula support leads to improved birth outcomes and reduced complications. Doulas provide continuous support throughout pregnancy and the important first year following, contributing to safer and more positive experiences for families. By removing barriers to becoming a doula, this apprenticeship program will expand access to a proven network of support, leading more families to better health outcomes during the birthing journey. I am grateful to Governor Shapiro for establishing this landmark apprenticeship program and continuing to invest in maternal health.” (PA House Press Release)
Women’s Health & Cancer Care: “It doesn’t care about what chamber you’re in or what state you live in, and we want to make sure here in Pennsylvania that we are doing everything we can to fight for women and to make sure their providers are educated.” (PA House Press Release)
