Texas State House District 71

“Throughout my career, I’ve sought out ways to serve my friends and neighbors in the Big Country. I have been fortunate to work at the local, state and federal level on issues that affect all of us, and it’s my hope that this campaign will reflect the values and aspirations we all share. I have deep roots in West Texas, and I am fortunate to have witnessed the efforts so many before me have undertaken to improve this community.” (KTXS Abilene News (Aug. 2025))

“I was one of the first students at Ortiz Elementary and I graduated from Cooper high School.(Go Coogs!) When we were able to buy a home, I wanted to buy a house in AISD because I am proud of my public school heritage in this community.” (Campaign website (dianalunafortexas.com))

“I love building community in a time when the world seems to want us to hate our neighbors. I truly believe that community with one another is how we safeguard ourselves against extremism and hate.” (Campaign website (dianalunafortexas.com))

“Shelter is one of the core needs at the base of Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs. It not only protects us from the elements and potential predators, it offers us a place to share with our families. The average Texan is spending more than 30 % of their income on housing, making them "cost-burdened", or as some like to refer to it “house poor”.” (Campaign website (dianalunafortexas.com))
