What is one part of Vermont’s economy or cost of living that needs greater attention from elected officials?: “I wouldn't say that there's a single part of the economy that needs more attention from elected officials. What we need is continued attention on all aspects of Vermont's economy, including housing, health care, education, and workforce needs.”
“I support some of the steps we've taken as a legislature but I don't believe that consolidation should be the focus when it comes to education. There is a need for some school districts to move forward with consolidation, but it is not the panacea that the Governor would like us to believe.”
“Given the complexity of education funding and the number of social services that are included in school budgets, this is not a yes or no question. I could potentially support such legislation depending on the formula used to determine what the base spending amount set by the state would be, and whether or how regional differences in cost of labor are included.”
