What is one part of Vermont’s economy or cost of living that needs greater attention from elected officials?: “The three deeply interconnected issues of education financing, health care, and housing need continued, consistent attention from elected and Scott Administration officials. Without building more housing, we both fail to meet the needs of Vermonters for an affordable roof over their head and fail to increase the property base necessary to provide quality education.”
“Yes. We need the cost savings envisioned through combining administrative services in the Cooperative Education Service Area (CESA) model.”
“Through a foundation formula, Vermont will join more than 30 other states in setting per pupil spending at a level the legislature and Governor can agree upon. This will put spending controls in place that have been absent. I believe it is then appropriate for local school districts to set budgets and manage the funds provided through the foundation formula and other revenue sources.”

“Yes. I believe that voluntary school mergers benefit students by expanding academic opportunities, reducing socioeconomic isolation, and sharing resources more efficiently.”
“I'm uncertain at this time. Local control is very important to Vermonters. Strong data would be needed to show that this choice would have tremendous benefits that outweigh the pushback from the many Vermonters who would be adamantly opposed”
“Investing in mental health/substance abuse community-based care to avoid costly emergency department and hospital admissions. In my view, universal healthcare appears to be the only tangible solution to a broken system, paired with smarter cost controls, preventive care, lower administrative overhead, and rural access”

“Hello, I'm Doug Wood, Republican candidate for State Rep Colchester Village.”
(Campaign Website) “For years, Democratic and Progressive leadership in Montpelier has failed to make Vermont more affordable or our communities safer. They've lost touch with the voters who put them there, choosing to serve unions and lobbyists instead of middle-class Vermonters. That's not acceptable—and it has to change. I will focus on the issues that truly matter to Vermonters and fight for real results.”
(Campaign Website) “Republicans believe government should live within its means, just like Vermonters do. I'll fight to lower the cost of living, protect taxpayers, and make Vermont affordable again for the people who call it home.”
