“Yes and no. I think something needs to happen with consolidation but more options need to be analyzed. At one time schools were so small that multi-grade levels were taught in a single classroom. I'd like to see different ideas developed and have more discussion.”
“My rating for the quality of Vermont's public schools is poor and not meeting expectations. In reviewing the scatter graph "school spending and proficiency" it looks to me that spending has less to do with proficiency than people are concluding.”
“Hard question. I'd welcome more brainstorming and open discussion. The answer may lie in "out of the box" thinking. I'd like to especially hear other ideas.”

What is one part of Vermont’s economy or cost of living that needs greater attention from elected officials?: “Vermont needs to hold big corporations accountable for paying good wages and providing full benefits to their workers. We cannot allow Walmart, Amazon, and others like them to take advantage of corporate welfare on the backs of hard-working Vermonters to line their shareholders' pockets.”
“Yes, I support some kind of consolidation because I don't think we can continue operating the same way we have and still see savings. I like the idea of schools being part of a regional planning group to collaborate and work together. I'm not necessarily in favor of closing schools, and at the same time, I believe we need to find ways to make sure all of our students are getting an excellent education.”
“As a previous school board member in Barre City, I would support legislation that gives the state power to set school budgets. Our school district is still without a school budget as I write this because some of our community members feel like we are spending too much, even though we have one of the lowest per-pupil spending levels in the state.”
