What is one part of Vermont’s economy or cost of living that needs greater attention from elected officials?: “Health care needs more attention because it is one of the main drivers of the affordability crisis here in Vermont. When families are paying more for insurance premiums, deductibles, prescriptions, and medical care, that money is not available for housing, food, childcare, or other basic needs. We have to address the rising cost of healthcare as a central part of the solution.”
“I do support making the public education system more efficient, but I do not support consolidation for consolidation sake. I believe we need to be careful that those changes do not weaken local voices, reduce educational opportunities, or force communities into mergers that do not make sense for them.”
“I do not support this. There is not a better arbiter of a communities funds than that community. This should not be a one size fits all solution to the budget problems across the state. Instead this can and should be a collaborative effort between the state and the municipality or district.”

We must rein in excessive government spending, reject aggressive new taxes, and roll back arbitrary regulations that increase the cost of housing, farming, and doing business.”
“Yes, I support Gov. Scott's goal of creating fewer, stronger school districts that can reduce administrative duplication, use staff and resources more efficiently, and provide students with greater educational opportunities.”

“I am the product of Vermont's public school system, and I am grateful for the educational opportunities Dothan Brook School, Hartford Memorial Middle School, and Hartford High School provided me with. I have brought that experience and the perspectives of constituents with me whenever I think about our public education system.”
“A foundation formula would give each district the same amount per student at an amount set by the state. I generally do support the gradual move to a foundation formula, as long as it adheres to common benefits clause constitutional requirements.”
