Andy Zahn

Andy Zahn Professional experience: I grew up on a small farm in the shadow of Mt. St. Helens, and studied to become a freelance writer and photographer. As a photographer, I have seen through my lens and through personal experience how corporate influence has chipped away at the fabric of our communities here in Southwest Washington. I’ve observed in my interactions with the oversight boards of government agencies how this corporate influence has corrupted our institutions. We’ve got to evict big money interests from our government, so that it will once again represent the people and the place we call home.

“Washington needs to invest in rural communities, and act proactively to create a robust, sustainable economy which provides us with good union jobs, but not at the expense of our health and the character of our vibrant landscapes.” (WA Secretary of State 2026 General Election Voters' Pamphlet)
“Southwest Washington faces many challenges, both now and in the future, and as things stand, no one has been willing to meet those challenges head-on or seriously tackle the root causes of the problems we must confront. Our representatives in government don’t really do much, and the state government often pretends as if we don’t exist.” (Ballotpedia Candidate Connection (2026))
