“I believe that local problems need local solutions, not ones imposed on counties and cities by faraway interests in Charleston and Washington. If elected, I will work to reverse the current trend in the legislature to restrict the voices of towns and counties in decisions on matters that directly affect the quality of life for families, children, seniors and small businesses, including data centers, sufficient infrastructure, strong public schools, affordable housing and invasive transmission lines.”
(Ballotpedia Candidate Connection Survey) “Public education, utility infrastructure, affordable child care, quality child services, affordable housing, empowerment of municipal and county governments, and attracting people and businesses to our beautiful state by increasing the quality of life in West Virginia.”
(Ballotpedia Candidate Connection Survey) “Providing Public Education with the funding that is needed to provide a quality education for all children. Public dollars belong in public schools. Providing public found to entities that are not monitored like public schools is unacceptable. Public dollars are going to entities and individuals without oversight and standards, we have a disaster waiting to happen. We are seeing this already around the state. We do not have a system of checks and balances in place. Public education is being hamstringed by Legislative overreach. We must do better.”

“RESPONSIBILITY--At the State Government level, the Treasurer's Office must be a tireless advocate for policies that protect citizens' rights. For example, when asset management companies enact policies that work to destroy the value of West Virginia's investments, the Treasurer's Office should create policies that prohibit investments from our State from being held by these institutions.”
(Ballotpedia Candidate Connection Survey) “The focus of my campaign for West Virginia House of Delegates is Growth, Jobs, and Opportunity. West Virginia deserves leaders who understand the concerns of citizens, and who work hard every day to ensure prosperity for future generations.”
(Steven Schetrom Campaign Website) “West Virginia stands at a critical moment," Schetrom said. "We have tremendous potential for growth, new jobs, and expanded opportunity--especially here in the Eastern Panhandle. I'm running for the House of Delegates to be a strong, practical voice for our communities and to help ensure that our region remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family.”
