Kerry Glen Murphy is the Republican candidate for House of Delegates District 9. Murphy works in construction and is a volunteer fire chief. He won the Republican nomination in the May 12 primary, but he will not face a Democratic opponent in the Nov. 3 general election, as he is unopposed. Murphy’s campaign priorities include improving infrastructure, creating career opportunities and expanding broadband access in rural West Virginia. He says a key area within his infrastructure focus is water infrastructure. He points to communities with poor water quality or no water access at all. He says he wants to implement jobs that are meant to strengthen local economies.
