Washington has 39 counties. In 2026 most counties elect their assessor, auditor, clerk, prosecuting attorney, sheriff, treasurer and some county commissioners or council members, plus district court judges, public utility district commissioners and a few city and port races. Candidates were narrowed to two in the Aug 4 top-two primary.
